In a Copacabana apartment building, two neighbors find out they’re more alike than they think. The background: the lockdown imposed by the pandemic. The characters: Laurita, a widowed retiree, who spends her days on her phone to stave off loneliness, and Amanda, a young opera singer who offers to buy groceries for at-risk neighbors, such as Laurita. Their encounter triggers a wave of feelings, memories and discoveries that will change their lives forever.
With delicate humor, A lista, written by Rio de Janeiro playwright, screenwriter and journalist Gustavo Pinheiro, explores the possibilities of an empathic dialogue in the generational gap between two women. The result is a touching portrait of affection that insists on flowering in the most unlikely of circumstances.
