Joining Editora Cobogó’s Dramaturgy Collection, frozen dog is one of 14 plays created by authors in the Núcleo de Dramaturgia Firjan SESI’s [Firjan SESI Playwriting Center] fifth class (2019), under the guidance of playwright and director Diogo Liberian.
When one awakens for the first time after a son’s death, after many hours attempting sleep, in vain, that awakening, awakening alone, feels more like fainting. The eyes open as if they were closing. Those this make sense? A lot in Lá made no sense.
About the author
Filipe Meira Isensee is a journalist, with a degree in cultural journalism and a master’s in film and AV. He was born in Salvador, raised in Belo Horizonte and has lived in Rio de Janeiro for the past ten years. Plays, screenplays, other prose and a few verses are in his writing horizon. frozen dog is his first published play.
About the collection
The Dramaturgia collection has, since 2012, published writing by Brazilian and international playwrights. The books help in building a memory of current theater, making a new record in the contemporary theater scene. In 2015, Cobogó also launched Dramaturgia Espanhola, the Spanish collection, and, in 2019, Dramaturgia Francesa, the French collection, and Dramaturgia para Crianças, for children. Over 50 authors have been published, with 80 titles.
