International Fear Congress is a reunion of people from distant places – and cultures – of the world, who joined this meeting in an attempt to conceptualize some issues concerning humanity. This distance is the starting point from which the play attempts to find similarities through differences and seeks the great treasure of human knowledge, in science or in the simple contemplation of nature. Among its conclusions is the frightening realization that we are ephemeral and temporary, and that fear is the eve of courage. The play was created by the group espanca!, from Minas Gerais, which has been seeking to reassess ethics through theater since its foundation in 2004.
