About the author
Clélia Bessa was born in Curitiba in 1963, when her father was in college there. Later raised in Manaus, she moved at the age of 17 to study in Rio de Janeiro, where she lives to this day. With a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and a graduate degree in Technologies Applied to Education from Pontifícia Universidade Católica (PUC-Rio), she fell in love with the movies in 1990 and, since then, is a partner at Raccord Produções Artísticas, where she produced films such as How to Be Single in Rio, Cartola, the Samba Legend, Pluft, and Câncer com ascendente em virgem. She’s the mother of Elisa, was a university professor, founded Carnaval groups, planted trees, produced films and TV series, and is now fulfilling her dream of having a book of her own.
