Based on the stories of this witness and fighter against the horrors committed by the military regime, Sílvia Gomez’s Lady Tempestade explores the space of invention between document and fiction. The narrative investigates the connection between events that occurred and that seem to repeat and update themselves — things that “happened happen will happen” — to state the importance of memory and records for building new futures.
The book features an introduction by the author and essays by Yara de Novaes, the play's director, Andrea Beltrão, who stars in the monologue, and Samarone Lima, journalist. Lady Tempestade was nominated for three Shell awards, in the Playwriting, Direction and Actress categories.
