The book was edited by the critic and Art History professor Tiago Mesquita, who also penned an essay for this volume, where he analyzes Zerbini’s “little paintings” in the context of his larger work and the tradition of landscape painting. According to Mesquita, these “light, multicolored, and graceful” paintings, that don’t idealize the landscape, find “ways to put things together — to explore their contrasts and wager on what is left. They have something of the peaceful desire for convergence.”
