Sem palavras portrays the movement and crossing occurring during a day around an apartment. Coming from a country in ruins, eight people with different bodies, social images, references, life stories and imagined worlds pass by. The ground shakes, inside and outside invade each other, and grammars are reformulated. A dog that barks, a transwoman who loves, and a man who does a countdown are some of the existence fragments developing on stage, bubbling up in words. Those who never had the right to speak or listen see their words overflow.
Based on the depletion and insufficiency of old shapes for our time’s issues, Sem palavras, by director and playwright Marcio Abreu, proposes a reinvention of language through stories of diverse bodies and social placements, in a mix of theater, dance, music and performance. Reclaiming a political and poetic dimension of words, reverberating not as a space of power, but as a whole body that's permeable in society, the text composes the image of an oncoming swarm, where each singularity vibrates and illuminates living possibilities.
Sem palavras closes out the trilogy composed by Marcio Abreu’s Projeto bRASIL and PRETO (written with Grace Passô and Nadja Naira), also published by Cobogó.
