Every birthday for the past hundred years, Elisa, the tortoise, hears the same litany: “Happy birthday to you…”. This time, she proposes a challenge to her animal friends: following a map, she invites them all on an adventurous journey in search of a shared deep desire. Alberto, the stuttering dog, Cordélia, the motherly hen, and Lauro, the wisecracking rabbit, cross gulfs and jungles alongside the entire troupe — Paixão, Dalton, Shirley, Esperança and Tuim —, relying on each other's friendship and empathy. An adventure for children aged 0 to 100.
In his first theater play, choreographer Alex Neoral brings together humor, lyricism and sound to translate into words the dance that animates Dancing Animals on stage. The book features playful illustrations by Eleonore Guisnet, which the children can color, following the journey of these spectacular dancing animals who teach us values such as solidarity, friendship, tolerance and empathy. Through a QRCODE, we can also hear songs composed by Tuim (Felipe Habib and Paula Raia), specially for the Focus Cia de Dança production, which debuted in September 2021.
