For two days, in June 2018, twelve Brazilian playwrights accepted a challenge: go on the Teatro Sesc Ipiranga stage, in São Paulo, to participate in an interview marathon. One after the other, they talked about their work process, production models, relationship to the public and the main force lines moving their writing.

About the editors
Isabel Diegues (Paris, France, 1970). The editor, writer and filmmaker has a Literature degree from PUC-RJ and is the Editorial Director at Cobogó, where she edited titles such as interview collections with Hans-Ulrich Obrist (2010-2019), Dramaturgy Collection (2012-2019) featuring over sixty contemporary theater plays, as well as Adriana Varejão – Entre carnes e mares (Adriana Varejão – Between Meats and Seas) and Pintura brasileira séc. XXI (Brazilian Painting XXI Century). In 2016, she released the book Diário de uma digressão – Uma viagem ao sertão do Piauí da Serra das Confusões até o mar (Diary of a Digression]).
José Fernando Peixoto de Azevedo (Sao Paulo, Brazil, 1974). Holding a doctorate in Philosophy from USP, he is a director, playwright, researcher and professor at the performing arts and film, radio and TV colleges at USP. In 1997, he founded Teatro dos Narradores, where he staged Cidade vodu (Vodoo City), 2016, and Cidade fim, cidade coro, cidade reverse (End City, Chorus City, Reverse City), 2011, among other plays, and collaborates with groups such as Os Crespos. He has published Próximo ato: teatro de grupo (Next Act: Group Theater), by Itaú Cultural, 2011, and edited Eu, um crioulo (I, A Nigger), by Pandemia collection, Editora n-1, 2018, with Antônio Araújo and Maria Tendlau.
Kil Abreu (Belém, Brazil, 1968). The theater critic and researcher is a curator at Centro Cultural São Paulo. Holding an undergraduate degree in Journalism and a master’s degree in Arts from USP, he has collaborated with Folha de S. Paulo and Bravo! * magazine, worked as a curator for some of the main theater festivals in the country, taught at and coordinated the Santo Andre Escola Livre de Teatro for ten years and was part of the jury at the Shell award for eight years. He’s currently a member of the International Theater Critics Association and writes criticism for *Teatrojornal.
About the collection
The Dramaturgia collection has, since 2012, published writing by Brazilian and international playwrights. The books help in building a memory of current theater, making a new record in the contemporary theater scene. In 2015, Cobogó also launched Dramaturgia Espanhola, the Spanish collection, and, in 2019, Dramaturgia Francesa, the French collection. Over 70 authors have been published, with 82 titles.
