It’s known that the Sars Cov 2 virus impacts the human body in various organs, and, although the biggest danger is to the respiratory tract and lungs, the illness is systemic. Inside the physical body, the virus spreads quickly, and the same can be seen in the political body of society. The COVID-19 pandemic caused, in an extremely short amount of time, an overwhelming number of deaths and consequences in the life of billions of people around the world. The essays in this book are precisely about the vast repercussion of an event biological in origin, through voices from various fields. We attempt here, on one hand, to build memories of this singular time for the future, and, on the other, to share imaginations for that same future, trying to maybe sketch transformations for the world to come. This book’s movement is “trembling with the world”, an expression taken from Martinican thinker Édouard Glissant (1928-2011), in a moment of deep shocks, in the hopes that this elaboration of our present might irrigate an imagination for the future.
