Rodrigo Andrade: The Resistance of Matter
Resistance of Matter features the paintings produced by the artist Rodrigo Andrade over the last five years. The publication includes an interview with Andrade in which he discusses his development as a painter since the 1980s and his relationship with the schools and movements in art that influence his work. It also includes essays by the art critic Tiago Mesquita and the philosopher and art critic Lorenzo Mammì.
About the artist
Rodrigo Andrade was born in 1962 in São Paulo, Brazil, where he lives and works. The work of Andrade is in important public collections, such as: Art Museum of Brasília, Brazil; Itaú Cultural Institute, São Paulo, Brazil; MAM - Museum of Modern Art, São Paulo, Brazil; Pinacoteca of the State of São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil and Museum of Contemporary Art of Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
